Hasselback Caprese

Looking for new ways to spice up your salad? If you're a Caprese fan, here's a new way to slice your tomatoes and cheese!

Ingredients - Based on Serving 2 People
2 large heirloom tomatoes
3-4 Bocconcini Cheese - OR 1-2 Large Buffalo Mozzarellas
Fresh Basil, as many leaves as you want to use.
Fleur de Sel - Pinch for each
Drizzle of Olive Oil of Your Choice - Extra Virgin, Tuscan Herb, Garlic, etc...
Drizzle of Balsamic of Your Choice - Traditional, Fig, Peach, etc

Directions
If there's gnarly parts on the top of your tomato where the stem is, slice that off and place that side down on your cutting board. Using chopsticks or long items similar in thickness, place one on each side of the tomato. When slicing the tomato, make sure not to slice all the way through. (The chopsticks will help with this).

Slice the cheese thinly, and slip between the tomato slices. Wash your basil, and place a large leaf or two smalls leaves beside each slice of cheese in the tomato.

Plate the hasselback Capreses, spread a pinch of the Fleur de Sel on each tomato, and drizzle the olive oil and balsamic overtop. Admire how the oil and vinegar slips in between all of the slices and makes everything glisten!

Roughly chop extra basil leaves (if desired) and garnish. Enjoy!
